Annual bicycle tours and festivals in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Almost all events listed here are non-profit and are open to all cyclists. For officially-sanctioned racing events, check the cycling organizations such as NORBA and US Cycling.

Choice of 27 or 70-mile rides near Tucson, Arizona, $50 registration fee plus optional donations (2008).
Late May Santa Fe Century, Sante Fe, NM
Choice of 25, 50, 75 & 100 mile "out & back" routes and an easy 50 mile mountain bike ride, $12-$23 registration fee (2008) plus optional donations.
Mid-June Oklahoma Freewheel OK
Week-long tour across the state 50 to 80 miles per day, $80 includes campsite but not shuttle service (2005)
Early Oct The Blue Loop Bike Tour, Morenci AZ
Three-day ride on the Coronado Trail through eastern Arizona, $95 includes camping (2005).
Early Sept Enchanted Circle Century Tour Red River, NM
Challenging 100-mile bicycle tour through the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in northern New Mexico hosted by the Red River Bike Club, $18 (2005)
Early Sept OBS Streak Oklahoma City, OK
Choice of four routes ranging between 15 and 80 miles over flat to gently rolling terrain. Fully stocked rest stops and mechanical road support provided. Free t-shirt and completion award, $15 (2003)
Late Sept Habitrek Turquoise Trail 200 Sandia Park, NM
Three day 200-mile road ride to benefit Habitat for Humanity, $125 + $500 minimum donation (2005) includes camping and meals Link lost 2008
Late Sept Socorro Fat Tire Fiesta Socorro, NM
Three days of riding for all levels of abilities from casual to extreme plus other activities such as trials and bike toss, $30 (2005)
Early Oct Cochise County Cycling Classic, Douglas AZ
Choice of 252, 157, 92 or 45-mile routes through southeast Arizona, $50 plus optional pledges (2005).
Early Oct Great Arizona Bicycle Adventure, Tucson AZ
Weeklong ride through Arizona 60 to 110 miles per day, limited to 200 riders, $500 includes 6 meals and camping (2005).
Early Oct Cotton Patch Cafe MS Keller Kountry Rally Bike Tour, Keller TX
Choice of routes ranging from 10 to 100 km in support of MS, $25 plus pledges (2004).
Mid-Oct Livestrong Challenge (formerly Ride for the Roses) Austin, Texas
Walk, run or ride 10 to 100 miles to raise funds for the Lance Armstrong Fund for cancer patient care. Riders must raise a minimum $250 in pledges (2008)
Mid-Oct Tour de Goliad Goliad, Texas
Sponsored by Goliad County Chamber of Commerce, this ride is held in the third oldest town in Texas. Rides arre 10 to 85 miles in length: 10 mile goes past historic missions and through the town of Goliad, 30-50-85 all go north of town throught ranch land, small towns, and over rolling hills. Entry fee: $20 (2004)
Mid-Nov El Tour de Tucson, Tucson AZ
Choice of 109, 80, 67, 33 mile rides or Kids Fun Ride near Tucson, Arizona, $80+ plus optional donations (2005).
