Hiking the Midstate Trail of Massachusetts

Trails: 92-mile linear hiking trail extends northward from Rhode Island across the hills of central Massachusetts to the Wapack Trail in New Hampshire. It crosses several state parks along its route. The trail is maintained and managed by the Midstate Trail Committee under the guidance of the Worcester chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. An end-to-end hike takes place over 19 Saturdays with a patch awarded to those who complete the entire length.

Trail Name: Midstate Trail
I have hiked there: A few times
I last hiked there in: Sept, 103
Trails that I hiked: The whole Midstate trail, twice.
Favorite trails: The sections in Douglas State Park, Barre Dam area, and Crow Hills. But almost all the trail is good.
Best time to go: Any time except winter
Trail marking: Fair
Trail maintenance: Fair

What I liked: The variety of the scenery and the continuity of the trail.
What I disliked: Nothing in particular.
Additional comments: Needs some maintenance and better marking in the Spencer area. Otherwise good throughout.
