Trails: The trail to the summit of Big Moose is 6 miles return. From the old Ranger cabin, halfway up the trail, a steep, stone stair goes up the southeast side of the mountain. From the top of Bif Moose another trail goes north to the top of the Big Squaw Mountain Ski Area and the top of the double chair lift.

Getting to the trail: From the traffic light in downtown Greenville travel north for 5 miles on Route 15 toward Rockwood. Turn left on the dirt road just past the Moose/Squaw Brook Campground and continue about 1.5 miles on this road. Look for the trailhead and parking on the right.
