Trails: The New Hampshire section of the AT runs 117 miles across the center of the state. From Hanover in the
Connecticut River Valley, the trail heads northeast across the White Mountains to Maine.
Thru-hikers will be spoiled by the mountain huts in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. In New Hampshire the AT is maintained by two clubs: the Dartmouth Outing Club (from Kinsman Notch to Vermont) and the NH chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (between Grafton Notch and Kinsman Notch).
Access fee: Parking fee is required at certain locations in the Whites
