Area name: Sunapee State Park
I have hiked there: Several
I last hiked there in: August, 2003
Trails that I hiked: Andrew Brook Trail
Favorite trails: Andrew Brook Trail
Best time to go: All year! It's a great trail for every season--nice as a first winter hike.
Trail marking: Very good
Trail maintenance: Very good
Rating: 5 stars
What I liked: The trail is beautiful and set through woodland. The trail is about 3 miles from trailhead to ski season snack bar at the top. About 2/3 of the way to the top is Lake Solitude--a great rest point or destination. The White Cliffs are another few minutes up the trail, overlooking the Solitude with great views of the surrounding area. The snack bar at the top (only open during ski season) has a great view from the second floor deck and it has chairs outside for taking a break.
What I disliked: While it's not a dislike about the trail, I suppose I could do without the communication tower at the top of Mount Sunapee.
