Trail Name: The Paumanok Path
I have hiked there: A few times
I last hiked there in: Mar, 2004
Trails that I hiked: Hiked the trail system from Mashmuset (speelling bad) state park in South Hampton.. A little snowy but a great hike.
Favorite trails: I enjoy the entrance across from Burger King on 25A in Rocky Point. Some of the best trails in Long Island.
Best time to go: June
Trail marking: Poor
Trail maintenance: Fair
Rating: 4.5 stars
What I liked: Scenery, in June Beautiful greens, also very quite no road noise once you get in deep enough. I was able to spot some Deer last year. I also like the restrictions on atv's and hunters
What I disliked: My only complaint is the lack of a fully marked trail. I had to buy a GPS unit to insure I would not lose my way.
Additional comments: None identified but be sure to keep a good eye on the paths you are taking to avoid getting lost.
