Hiking the Appalachian Trail

Trails: 230-mile section of the Appalachian Trail trail cuts across the southeast corner of the state from Pen Mar on the Maryland border to Delaware Water Gap on the Jersey border. The southern section from the Maryland border to the Susquehana River is gently rolling. North of the Susquehana the trail is more challenging. Eleven different clubs maintain the AT through PA (see the ATC website for the list).
