Hiking the Standing Stone Trail

Trails: The Standing Stone Trail is 72-mile hiking trail connecting the Tucarora and the Mid-State trails, running north from Cowans Gap State Park to Greenwood Furnace State Park. Prior to 2007 it was known as the Link Trail.
Important: water sources are scarce on the trail so be sure to carry sufficient quantities with you.
Access fee: No charge, but membership in the SSTC ($10) helps support the trail
Nearest town: Burnt Cabins, Huntingdon, Boalsburg, PA

Getting to the trail: Cowans Gap State Park is a few miles northwest of the town of Richmond Furnace. Greenwood Furnace State Park is on Highway 305 about 5 miles north of Belleville.
