Trails: 252-mile (110 miles in PA) linear trail runs parallel to the AT through West Virginia, Maryland and south central Pennsylvania. The PA section is maintained by the Northern Chapter of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club.

What I liked: If solitude is what you want then this is your trail. More strenous and rocky than the AT that runs parallel to this trail. Ability to complete a 400+ mile loop with the Appalachian trail. Loads of wildlife.
What I disliked: The sections of road hiking and the canal walk in maryland
