Trails: The Vermont section of the AT travels north from the Massachusetts border for 100 miles along the Long Trail through the Green Mountains. Near Killington the AT splits off from the Long Trail and heads 50 miles east to the New Hampshire border. The southern section of the trail from the Massachusetts border to Route 12 near Woodstock is maintained by the Green Mountain Club.
Access fee: None, but a donation to the GMC or ATC helps support the trail.
