Trails: The Pownal region in the southwest corner of Vermont has about 8 miles of hiking trails maintained by the Williams Outing Club of Williams College, Massachusetts. A 2.5-mile trail ascends the Dome (elev. 2,748 feet) and connects with the Broad Brook Trail to form a loop. Nearby, the Pine Cobble Trails links to the Appalachian/Long Trail.
