Trails: The Cross Rivendell Trail is a 36-mile hiking trail linking eastern Vermont and western New Hampshire. From Flag Pole Hill in the west the trail skirst the south end of Lake Morey then heads east across the Connecticut River to intersect the Appalachian Trail on Mount Cube.
Access fee: None required, but joining the RTA will help support the trail.
Nearest town: Vershire, Fairlee, VT, and Orford, NH
Trail map: Waterproof map is published by the RTA, $8 (2009). Maps in PDF format can be downloaded free from the RTA website.

Camping: No camping permiited on the trail. Jacobs Brook Campground in Orford has 60 sites.

Getting to the trail: The Cross Rivendell Trail is about 40 miles south of St Johnsbury and can be accessed at several points. The parking lot nearest the west end of the trail is on Chelsea Road near Taylor Valley Road. The parking lot nearest the east end of the trail is on Baker Road where there is a choice of going east to Mount Cube or following the road north to get to the westbound section of the trail.
