Hiking Stratton Mountain

Trails: Stratton Mountain is an alpine ski resort so there are several ski trails that can be hiked to the top. The summit (elev. 3,936 feet) is more than a 2,000 feet above the resort at the base. The Appalachian/Long Trail traverses Stratton from the southwest and northwest sides. A short side trail leads from the main trail to the actual summit.
Stratton Pond Trail, west of Route 341, can be reached by hiking any of three trails: the AT/LT, the North Brookwood Trail or the Stratton Pond Trail. A trail around the pond can be muddy in places. Access fee: None

Lodging: Stratton Resort has several lodges and condos. Other accommodations are in nearby towns.
Camping: Backcountry camping is permitted near Stratton Pond at a designated site and at the GMC shelter. Jamaica State Park has 40 campsites and 12 lean-tos.

Getting to the trail: Stratton Resort is 4 miles south of Bondville on Stratton Mountain Road. The AT/LT crosses Kelley Stand Road southwest of Stratton Mountain and to the northwest of Stratton on Route 341.
