Trail Name: Devil's Lake State Park
I have hiked there: Several times
I last hiked there in: Apr, 2004
Trails that I hiked: I've hike them all.
Favorite trails: They are all great. The best are- West Bluff
-East Bluff
-East Bluff Woods
Balanced Rock
-Pot Holes
-CCC
-Ice Age From HWY 113 to Parfrey's Glen
Best time to go: All are good but in summer Devil's Lake becomes Wisconsin's most heavily used park.
Trail marking: Very good
Trail maintenance: Very good
Rating: 5 stars
What I liked: The trails around the gorge remind of a high alpine setting. When you get into the wooded trails it's like being in far northern Wisconsin. The Parfrey's Glen area is spectacular.
What I disliked: There's little to dislike with the exception of heavy summer use.
Additional comments: Make sure to learn the as much about Devil's Lake's geologic history as possible. Also it's native American history is very interesting.
