Lodging Price Ranges Maine has three regions that are popular recreation destinations: the White Mountains, the North woods and the rugged coast. Sporting camps scattered throughout central and northern Maine were originally intended for hunting and fishing but now cater to outdoor enthusiasts year round. A few of the camps are not accessible by automobile.
