Hostels

Appalachian Mountain Club operates two car-accessible lodges with dormitories along the Appalachian Trail: Joe Dodge Lodge (Pinkham Notch at the foot of Mt Washington) and Highland Center at Crawford Notch and several backcountry huts in the Presidential Range, as well as Cold River Camp at Evans Notch and Cardigan Lodge at Alexandria, hiking, backcountry skiing, $40 - $60 with meals (2008)

Moosilauke Ravine Lodge - operated by the Dartmouth College Outing Club from spring to fall, bunkhouses for 2 to 12 people, $24 pp (2008).

Backcountry Lodging

Timberland Trails, Phillips Brook Backcountry Recreation Area - backcountry lodge ($55 pp) and 4 yurts ($35 pp) located along a trail between Stark and Dixville Notch, canoeing, hiking, mtn biking, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing (2003)

Appalchian Mountain Club operates several backcountry lodges in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. Accommodations are in bunks stacked four high. During the summer months, meals are included in overnight stays and a shuttle service operates between trailheads.
