Planning your next outdoor adventure trip? A1 Trails Guide can help you find lodging located near outdoor activities such as biking, hiking and cross-country skiing.
Lodging with easy access to outdoor activities are divided into several categories:
Lodges, ranches and resorts - offering private rooms and modern amenities. Listed rates are the approximate cost of a double room with no meals, unless indicated MAP (Modified American Plan) or AP. MAP and AP are the rate per person double occupancy including two and three meals, respectively.
Cabins in state parks and national forests - in certain states cabins can be rented from state parks or the Forest Service. Cabins may be modern or rustic. Modern cabins are equipped with amenities such as indoor plumbing, refridgerators and stoves. Rustic cabins do not have indoor plumbing and may not have fridges or stoves. Bed linens are not usually supplied in either type of cabin.
Hostels - low-budget accommodations generally with bunkhouse-style dormitories. Rates listed for hostels affiliated with Hostelling International are per person for HI members. Linen and blankets usually cost extra. Certain hostels close during off-peak periods.
Backcountry cabins, huts and lodges - accessible only by foot, ski, boat or aircraft, these accommodations are generally fairly rustic (no electricity or running water). Huts and certain lodges have bunkhouse-style sleeping accommodations that may be shared by more than one group. Rates are usually per person.
Rates listed on this site are only approximate and do not include taxes. Check with the establishment for the latest prices.
