Area name: Blue Hills Reservation Number of times riding the trail: Weekly I last rode there in: Trails that I have ridden: Al of them. Yes, all of them. Monumentus, Three Stages, Backside of Tucker Hill, Toxic tour, Doug Valley, The Ski Jump, BugBee Path, Pig Rock....to name a few. If you really know the place you know what I speak of, if you don't ask Ranger John at the Blue Hills MDC what those names mean. I've been riding here for almost 15 years. Favorite trails: Moumentus, Doug Valley, El Gordo. Best time to go: May-June or September. Too wet or hot otherwise. Trail marking: Fair Trail maintenance: Fair Rating: 0.5 stars What I liked: Stay away from our playground! Go to Vietnam or Lynn Woods and trash that place instead. What I disliked: They are very rocky, loose, singletrack is really hard to find. It's really easy to get lost. Comments: The map that is available for bikers is way inadequate. Marked loops are nearly nonexistent. Almost all singletrack is illegal. All the good stuff on the other side of Rt28 is closed. All trails are closed from January 1st to April 15th (Yeah that makes sense. How about something realistic like March 1st to May 15th? I know how much bikes damage the *rock-hard frozen ground in Jan and Feb.!*)
Recommended routes? Yeah, take 95 South to 495 North to Vietnam (exit 20). Submitted by: EH. Rigid Wicked Fat w/ drop bars. from: Milton MA Date submitted: Dec 30, 2002

I like going to Blue Hills early in the spring and getting a good workout since it is the only place in the area that has lots of climbing. What I disliked: The trails are wide and filled with lots of loose rock. Comments: Submitted by: Rich from: Newton, MA Date submitted: April 8, 2002
