Area name: Leominster State Park
Number of times riding the trail: A few times
I last rode there in: July, 2004
Trails that I have ridden: Roacky Pond Rd, Wolf Rock Rd, Center Rd and Brook Rd trails
Favorite trails: Wolf Rock Road, Center Road trails
Best time to go: May-October
Trail marking: Fair
Trail maintenance: Very good
Rating: 4.5 stars
What I liked: Figure of 8 loops, few other trail users, great forest scenery & wildlife, slopes are not too steep for do-able ascents and controlled (yet still fun) descents. Not far off route 2, about 40 mins from Boston.
What I disliked: Proximity to shooting range (keep an eye out for off-limits signs on trails to avoid venturing into the range). Hunting is allowed certain times of the year - avoid riding or wear bright-colored clothing.
Comments: Crow Hill Pond, half miles north on MA-31, is a community swimming hole, popular in the summer months. Parts of the trails are rocky - ensure tires are pumped up to avoid pinch-flats.
