New York State Park Usage FeesDay or annual passes are required for all vehicles entering New York state parks. Day passes are usually $6 to $8 per vehicle (2009). Empire Passes good for annual admission to parks cost $65 (2009). Additional fees are charged for certain activities such as skiing on groomed trails. There's no charge for day hiking or for snowshoeing. Camping fees range from $15 to $28 per site, depending on the services provided (2009). Cabins can be rented from about $150 to $800 per week, depending on the capacity of the cabin and the amenities provided. Daily cabin rates are about one quarter the weekly rate. Reservations cost $9 for campsites and cabins. There may be a minimum of two nights stay required when making campsite reservations. Usage Fees for Forest Preserves in New YorkEntry passes are not required for entering forest preserves but parking fees may be charged in a few high-use areas such as the Adirondack High Peaks. Camping fees are $15 to $24 per night, depending on the campground. A fee of $9 is charged for reserving campsites. Backcountry camping is free in DEC areas where it is permitted, except at the Adirondack High Peaks where it is administered by the ADK. Usage Fees for Finger Lakes National ForestThere is no charge for the entry to Finger Lakes National Forest. Camping fees are $10.
