Penn's Woods, or Pennsylvania as it is more commonly known, is crisscrossed with country roads and towns. However, there are still a few natural areas remaining for the outdoor enthusiast. North central PA has Alleheny National Forest and several state forests where many long-distance trails are to be found. Other natural areas are the Laurel Highlands and Allegheny Mountains of southern PA and the Endless Mountains region of the northeast.
