Trail description: The Kalamazoo River Valley Trail is a paved multi-purpose trail that, when completed, will be 35 miles in length and connect three local trails in the Kalamazoo area: the Kal-Haven, Portage Bicentennial Park Trail (a 4 mile long trail), and Battle Creek's Linear Path. As of Fall 2008, 4.8 miles are complete from 10th Street to downtown Kalamazoo, with construction starting in February 2009 of the next segment. When completed in 2010, the trail will connect the Kal-Haven Trail west to Battle Creek to make a total end-to-end length of about 83 miles and bring the total length of trails in the region to 140 miles.
Access fee: None required, but donations to the Parks Foundation of Kalamazoo County help support the trail

Getting to the trail: The western terminus of the KVRT is on the west side of Kalamazoo at 10th Street north of Highway 43. Parking lots are available in each town.
