Trail description: 12 miles of the 21-mile proposed trail linking Amenia and Copake Falls are completed. Eight miles between Millerton and Undermouth are detoured onto scenic roads until the section is finished in 2006. Eventually, the northern end will reach Chatham, 20 miles north of Copake Falls.

What I liked: Love the trail and the countryside. Love that you can get off at many points and do much more riding. Love that the villages along the way are worth visits in their own rights. Love the people I have met.
What I disliked: Trail should be finished to the north. Hate to get off between Millerton and Undermountain to get up to the state park and falls.

What I liked: Well marked, paved, maintained. Others using the trail are friendly and helpful.
What I disliked:
Comments: Next year the trail will be completed from Millerton through Amenia to the railroad station to New York. This will be a significant improvement to an already nice trail, as this will allow connection to city bike ways. Millerton has several restaurants, a movie house, other facilities.

Best time to go: Spring, Summer, Autumn

What I liked: Smooth pavement, level grade, cleanliness, proximity to amenities at either end
What I disliked: auto parking can be tight at peak times
Comments: Small natural food shop about 2 blocks from the Millerton trailhead (lovely town b.t.w.), restrooms +- 1/2 mile at McDonalds (east of Millerton village if the porta-johns are not there. Occasional snake sunning on the path.
