Trail description: The Heritage Trail is a 11-mile multi-use rail trail that follows the route of the former New York & Erie Railroad from Goshen to Monroe in Orange County, NY. Planning is underway to extend the trail a few miles northwest to Middletown.
Access fee: No charge but purchasing an Orange Pathways memberships helps support the trail

Getting to the trail: The current western end of the Heritage Trail is on St. James Place between South Church Street and Green Street in Goshen. The Chester parking lot at the old railroad depot on Winkler Place. Parking for the eastern end is available at the Park & Ride Lot on Orange and Rockland Road just west of Route 208.
