Switchback Railway Trail

Trail description: 9-mile rail trail follows the grade of the former Switch Back Gravity Railroad which was America's second railroad when it began operation in May 1827 hauling anthracite coal. It was more recently designated a National Historic Trail. The trail is predominantly downhill from west to east. Shuttle service and bike rentals are available.
