Iowa: Wabash Trace Nature Trail - 63 miles

West Virginia: Greenbrier River Trail - 77 miles

Nebraska: The Cowboy Trail - will be the longest individual recreation path in the US at 321 miles when it is complete.

South Dakota: Mickelson Trail - 109 miles

Rail Trail and Bike Path Resources

American Trails - nonprofit organization involved in the protection and development of trails for all types of recreation--including motorized uses.

Millennium Trails - one route in each state was chosen as a Millennium Legacy Trail on the basis of their historical or cultural significance. Many--but not all--are rail trails and a few are no longer used as trails.

Trails and Greenways - provides support to organizations that develop rail trails and greenways.

Trail Link - a national database of rail trails and greenways maintained by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.

East Coast Greenway - When it is eventually completed, the East Coast Greenway will be a transportation corridor for non-motorized use from Maine to Florida. It will be at least 80% off-road and connect urban centers along the east coast.
