Trail name: 400 State Trail
Times biking the trail: Once
Date of last visit: Sept, 2002
Sections that I biked: End to end, Reedsburg to Elroy.
My favourite sections of the trail: The entire trail is very scenic with a balance between open prairie and farmland with just the right amount of shade. No part stands out, while no part disappoints.
Best time to go: Summer, Fall could be scenic, as well.
Trail marking: Very good
Trail maintenance: Very good
Rating: 4 stars
What I liked: This trail is scenic, flat, and without any dangerous stretches. It is a very comfortable ride and it connects directly with the Elroy-Sparta Trail.
What I disliked: I thought that the Baraboo River would actually be more than a narrow creek!
Comments: All of the little towns along the way offer a restroom and water. The trail is well marked and maintained. It's worth starting in Reedsburg if you plan on riding the Elroy-Sparta Trail.
