Trail description: 19.5-mile rail trail is named after a bald eagle that was a mascot of the Wisconsin Regiment during the Civil War. The trail connects two state parks: Lake Wissota State Park, east of Chippewa Falls, and Brunet Island State Park. Trail name: Old Abe State Trail Times biking the trail: Once Date of last visit: July, 2002 Sections that I biked: we did the whole trail My favourite sections of the trail: in the cornell area Best time to go: spring summer or fall Trail marking: Very good Trail maintenance: Very good Rating: 4 stars What I liked: not to many people on trail and very smooth What I disliked: Comments: We stayed at a great B&B on lake wissota (pleasant view B&B) you can bike right to the trail (4 blocks) Great supper club on the lake.
