Trail description: 15-mile multi-use trail links the Chippewa River Trail to Menomonie.
Access fee: State Trail Pass is required for bicyclists

Points of interest: During the lumbering era of over a century ago, logs harvested in the north were floated down the Red Cedar River. The ornate Mabel Tainter Theater in Menomonie was built by one of the city's lumber barons.

My favourite sections of the trail: The section along the Red Cedar offers great views, fishing.

What I liked: Everything, beautiful rivers, river crossings, wildlife area, small towns.
What I disliked: nope
Comments: A truly user friendly trail, go on a weekday or early am and you can have the trail to yourself. Nice scenery

My favourite sections of the trail: mile marker 4 to 7
Best time to go: when it is not covered real deep in snow
Trail marking: Very good
Trail maintenance: Very good

What I liked: it is almost level great relaxing scenery
What I disliked: the pungent smell of cow manure at mile 8.25-8.5 atracts a lot of small bugs takes your breath away i wish the farmer would not pile it next to trail. people walking thier dogs in the same area w/o leash
Comments: all the bridges can be very slippery when wet and the approach to them is a little abrupt

Sections that I biked: From County road D to downsville.
My favourite sections of the trail: All of it, along the river cools you off and when you in land a little you get the warmth of the sun.
Best time to go: I can not say. I have only been on the trail in Feb/March and June/July.

Trail maintenance: Fair

What I liked: Variety of scenery.
What I disliked: When there is snow the trail is not kept up as I would like for Cross Country skiing. But for biking it has been great.
Comments: Cannot comment at this point I have only eat at one location and I know there are many and I haven't had a chance to check out the surounding areas of the trail.

Best time to go: winter is nice for skiing (pretty flat), spring is great

What I disliked: can be crowded, can be hot and windless
Comments: you can get to the Creamery, a very wonderful restaurant that has a great Sunday brunch

Comments: this is one of our favorite trails. it hooks up with the chippewa trail so you can get a great ride out of it ..do lunch at the creamery in downerville(?) we love it

Best time to go: early moring, yoou can have it all to yourself

What I liked: Easy grade trail, well groomed with numerous points of interest & the convergence of the red cedar & chippewa rivers @ dunville bottoms
