What I liked: Its very good in surface, safety and scenery. It's great to have a trail the loops, is not just a straight, flat shot (railroad bed)and goes around a major city where there are attractions of all kinds within a few miles at all times (as opposed to having to go 10 miles to get to the next town where there is nothing but a rough bar). It's also a big plus that much of it is wind-sheltered, so headwinds wouldn't be as much of a consideration as in more open circuits. A trail loop of this quality is not difficult to find in the 5-mile length category, but this is over 30 miles, making it pretty impressive and well worth a significant drive to get there and make a weekend expedition of it. Perhaps also due to the length, we found it much less crowded (on a perfect Saturday) than, for example, one typically experiences on the Peninsula State Park 5-mile loop at Fish Creek.
What I disliked: The only thing left to be desired was paving. But soft spots were rare.
Comments: The official map notes busy intersections with an "!" but none of the on-road sections presented any particular traffic concerns.
