Fairbanks Ski Trails

Trails: The Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks grooms trails for cross-country skiing at two locations: the Jim Whisenhant Cross Country Ski Trails at Birch Hill Recreation Area and on the Fairbanks campus of the University of Alaska.
UAF trails are 15 km (9 miles) in length extending into the nearby arboretum. A few miles of the trails are lighted for night skiing.
Birch Hill has 32 km (20 miles) of groomed trails, including 8 km of trail lighted for night skiing. There are also some ski trails at Pear Creek.

What I liked: excellent terrain, very well maintained, nice facility
What I disliked: not a thing
Comments: the best skiing in Alaska. Kincade in Anchorage is bigger but not better.

What I liked: Miles and miles of varied terrain, excellent grooming, pretty scenery
What I disliked: It can get cold.
Comments: Not much level skiing; a few hills where caution/braking are in order.
