Trails: 20 km (12 miles) of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing, including some for skating. There are also some backcountry trails. The 4,000+ elevation means that there is a long ski season. Hence, it is an October training site for the U.S. Cross-Country Ski Team. Hatcher Pass Road is closed in winter between Willow and the pass, requiring a longer drive through Wasilla and Palmer.
