Trails: Within Anchorage's Kincaid Park approximately 50 km (30 miles) of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing (classic and skating) by the Nordic Ski Association of Anchorage. A 11 km trail is lighted for night skiing. Kincaid Park is the finish of the annual Tour of Anchorage ski marathon and is certified for international competitions. Name of XC Area: Kincaid Park Times that I have skied there: Weekly I last skied there in: Mar, 2004 Trails that I skied: All My favorite trails: All Trail marking: Very good Trail grooming: Very good Rating: 5 stars What I liked: Some of the best XC skiing I've ever been to/raced at, they redid some stuff to make it better accomodating to people (like bigger and more parking) very few places can ofer the sheer amount and quality of these trails! What I disliked: not many, can be a bit crowded on a race day, may have to pay later if peopel dont donate. BUY A PIN!! Steep hills, spectacular views, endless mile of trails to explore. I have seen lynx, moose, and bears. What I disliked: Some rednecks shoot the trail signs and maps (universal alaska problem) Comments: The chalet now serves real coffee and cocoa!
