Trails: At Pole Knoll Recreation Area in Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest 56 km (34 miles) of trails are designated for cross-country skiing (some may be groomed). Trails are at the 9,000 foot elevation so usually receive plenty of snow.
There are also some ski trails a few miles south at the Squirrel Spring Recreation Area. Trail fees: None
