Trails: Spooner Lake has 80 km (49 miles) of trails groomed for cross-country skiing (classic and skating) with superb views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. There are also several backcountry trails. Several easy and intermediate trails circle the lake. More difficult trails are in the higher peaks. A 35 km Big Loop involves 3,700 feet of climb.
