Trails: There are about 38 km (22 miles) of ungroomed trails are available for cross-country skiing near the Dodge Ridge Ski Resort in the Stanislaus National Forest. Two trails totalling 5 miles are rated Easy, nine trails (16 miles) Intermediate and three trails Most Difficult. The trails are usually patrolled on weekends by the Pinecrest Nordic Ski Patrol.

There are two trailheads to the nordic trails: Crabtree (near the junction of Dodge Ridge Road and Dodge Ridge Loop) and Gooseberry (farther up Dodge Ridge Loop).
