Trails: 330 km (204 miles) of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing, for both classic and skating. There is snowmaking on 15 km of trails. Four T-bars are available for uphill travel. Royal Gorge is North America's largest cross-country resort.

Location of trails: Royal Gorge is about 3 hours drive northeast of San Francisco or 45 minutes west of Reno, Nevada. Take the Soda Springs/Norden Exit off I-80 and follow the signs. Check the I-80 road conditions before departing. There is an Amtrak stop nearby.

What I liked: I have skiied in many places around the world over 30 years and this place has absoluted the best groomed trails ever.

What I liked: great scenery, all trails are well marked and very good interconnected systems easy to find your way around.
What I disliked:
Comments: reno is nearby for reasonable price lodging and evening entertainment. we stayed in reno and drove to royal gorge and found that it was an easy commute for us.
