Trails: Clair Tappaan Lodge, operated by the Sierra Club, offers 12 km (7 miles) of trails that are groomed for cross-country skiing. There are also many miles of backcountry trails accessible from the lodge, some of which lead to the club's four backcountry huts. Royal Gorge is just a couple miles east.
