Trails: Piney Creek Nordic Center offers 25 km (15 miles) of trails groomed for cross-country skiing (classic and skating) at elevation above 10,000 feet. Tennessee Pass Cookhouse, a gourmet restaurant is located in a yurt 1 mile down a trail from the trailhead (reservations required).
There are also groomed trails at several locations near Leadville: at Colorado Mountain College (20 km of trails), the 11.6 mile multi-use trail around Leadville, Turquoise Lake Road (15 miles) and Mount Massive Golf Course (5 km). Trail fees: Piney Creek: Adults $14, seniors and children ? (winter 2008-9). Other trails are free.

Location of trails: Piney Creek Nordic Center is located on Route 24 at Tennessee Pass near Ski Cooper, several miles north of Leadville and about 35 miles south of Vail. The Mineral Belt Trail starts and ends at the Colorado Mountain College on the south side of Leadville. Check the road conditions before driving.
