Trails: About 50 km (31 miles) of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing (skate and classic) at various locations around the town of Telluride. Nordic trails are located at the Town Park (2 km), Trout Lake Railroad Grade, on Topaten Mountain and at Faraway Ranch. Another 10 km of trails at Topaten Mountain are operated by Telluride Resort. There is also the San Juan Hut System, a backcountry trail with five huts connecting Telluride, Ridgway and Ouray.
