Trails: Little Lyford Lodge is a former sporting camp opened in 1874 in the Hundred Mile Wilderness, now operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club. Of the 16 km (10 miles) of cross-country ski trails in the immediate area about half may be occasionally groomed. There's more than 40 km of outlying trails leading to the AMC's Medawisla Lodge to the north and to Gulf Hagas, the Appalachian Trail and Moose Point Cabin. Access to the Little Lyford Lodge in winter is by skiing up to 12 km. Lodge-to-lodge trips can be done with Northwoods Outfitters guide service or on your own.

Location of trails: Little Lyford Lodge is about 16.5 miles east of Greenville. In winter the last 6.5 miles must be acessed by ski or snowshoe. You must reserve with the AMC to arrange transportation to the lodge. Medawisla Lodge is located 25 miles northeast of Greenville and can usually be accessed directly by car but four-wheel drive is reccommended. Check the Maine road conditions before driving.
