Trails: The two adjacent networks of Hidden Valley Rec Area and Silver Rapids have a combined total of 19 km (11 miles) of trails that are groomed for cross-country skiing. Silver Rapid Trails are lit by lanterns on Friday and Saturday. The Hidden Valley Trails link up to the Mesabi Trail, a 130-mile recreation trail connecting Ely to Grand Rapids.
In Ely, the 6.5 km Trezona trail is groomed for skate and classic. Consisting of a single loop, the trail may also be used by walkers and dogs.
