Pincushion Mountain Trails

Trails: Pincushion Mountain grooms 25 km (15 miles) of trails for cross-country skiing (skate and classic). Trails range from Easiest to Most Difficult. Scenic vistas of Lake Superior can be earned by skiing to the summit of Pincushion Mountain. The center hosts the Sawtooth Ski Race in early Jauary.

Location of trails: The Pincushion Mountain trails are about 2 miles north of Grand Marais on the Gunflint Trail (County Road 12). In Grand Marais, the turn-off for the Gunflint Trail is 1/2 mile east of the town's only stop light. Two miles up the Gunflint turn right (east) at County Road 53 and continue 1/4 mile to the Pincushion trailhead.
