Trails: The 38 km (22 miles) of groomed cross-country ski trails along the Cascade River connect with the trails within Cascade River State Park. Deer Yard trails and the trails on the upper slopes of Lookout Mountain and Moose Mountain are rated More Difficult and Most Difficult.

Location of trails: Cascade River trails are accessed from Cascade River State Park. Deer Yard is about 12 miles west of Grand Marais: take Co Rd 7 west to Pike Lake Road, follow Pike Lake Rd to Murmur Creek Rd, and then continue towards Deer Yard.
