Trails: At Chief Joseph Pass on the Montana/Idaho border 25 km (15 miles) of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing by the Bitterroot Ski Club. The trails are at a 7,000-foot pass in the Continental Divide. A majority of the trails are rated More Difficult, the remainder are Easy and Most Difficult. Caution: avalanche danger may exist on some trails.

Location of trails: Chief Joseph Pass is on the Montana/Idaho border about 28 miles west of Wisdom, MT, and 94 miles south of Missoula. From Highway 93 at Lost Trail ski area go south on Highway 43 about 1 mile to the parking lot for Chief Joseph trails.
