Name of XC Area: Mount Haggin Ski Trails Times that I have skied there: Several times I last skied there in: Jan, 2004 Trails that I skied: crooked john, little california My favorite trails: little california Trail marking: Very good Trail grooming: Very good Rating: 5 stars What I liked: Spectacular mountain views, I believe the trails are thoroughly groomed every Saturday morning. Lots of room on the trails for passing, etc. What I disliked: I don't like the fact that dogs aren't allowed on the trails. It is simply not true that dogs ruin the trails. Most other XC areas I have been to allow dogs as long as the owners pick their droppings up off the trail. I know that this is a concern of other XC skiers/dog owners. I believe that you could take your dog to Mt. Haggin and technically, there is nothing to keep you from doing so as this is public land. Comments: Great soup/desserts/coffee at the Soup Shack across the road from the parking area. Submitted by: Paul Iverson from: Butte, Montana Date submitted: Jan 12, 2004

Name of XC Area: Mount Haggin Ski Trails Times that I have skied there: Weekly I last skied there in: Feb, 2002 Trails that I skied: Little California, Spire Loop, Crooked John My favorite trails: Spire Loop Trail marking: Fair Trail grooming: Fair Rating: 5 stars What I liked: Great views to the Pintler range, good snow. What I disliked: The trails are a bit boring -- kind of like skiing logging roads. And they're cut too wide. Comments: The groomers can be very belligerent. Apparently, they refuse to accept the FWP ruling that, because this is a wildlife management area, dogs ARE permitted. Submitted by: S.K.Jouring from: Butte America Date submitted: March 1, 2002
