What I liked: If you like hills, Great Glen is the best area in the White Mountains. Trails are also kept in excellent condition. Scenery is unsurpassed, offering incredible views of the Presidents' Range. Warming huts along the trail provide a good place to stop for lunch. Some of the most challenging trails in New Hampshrie.
What I disliked: Not much here for beginers, although I'm told they do have a good ski school. Other than that, the only problem with the trails is volume. It is possible to do all the intermediate and some expert trails twice (and a little extra) in one day.
Comments: Trails are so good, you won't mind doing them twice. Base lodge is in a little disaray because of a fire, but as of last winter (02) the owners were planning on rebuilding near the Mount Washington Auto Road Building.
