Name of area: Jackson Ski Touring Center Times that I have skied there: Several times I last skied there in: Feb, 2002 Trails that I skied: Impossible to ski them all, but quite a few My favorite trails: Christmas Farm system Trail marking: Very good Trail grooming: Very good Rating: 5 stars What I liked: "World Class" is a very good description. Some of the best trails in the East, offering something for all skill levels. Not only are the trails numerous, but their sprawling, offering a variety of scenic options (with regard to the type of forest). Inns and eateries are numerous at different points along the trail. Also, JSTA is non-profit, so this is also the most inexpensive are in the White Mountains. What I disliked: There are drawbacks to being the most popular area for twenty years. Jackson is too crowded to visit on the weekends (at least I think so), and the pubs that dot the trails are becoming a little too frequent as the area is being more and more built up around the tourist industry. Comments: Still one of the best XC areas in New England. Submitted by: M.A.L.C. from: Beverly, MA Date submitted: Jan 6, 2003
