Tug Hill Tourathon Trails

Trails: The Tug Hill Tourathon Trails in Winona Forest consist of 50 km (31 miles) of trails the are groomed for cross-country skiing by the Winona Forest Recreation Association, formerly the Tug Hill Ski Club. Tug Hill Plateau has some of the highest snowfalls in the east, averaging more than 250 inches per year due to the effect of Lake Ontario. The club hosts the Tug Hill Tourathon (12-50 km) in February or early March.

Location of trails: The Tug Hill Tourathon Trails are located on the Tug Hill Plateau, about 50 miles north of Syracuse. Take Exit 37 off I-81 at Sandy Creek and head east through Lacona, turn left and go about 1 mile north, then turn right on Center Rd (Co Route 13) and continue 5 miles east to the first of the trail's five parking lots.
