Trails: High Point State Park in northern New Jersey becomes a nordic ski center in winter offering 16 km (10 miles) of trails groomed for cross-country skiing (skating and classic), including 6 km of trails with snow-making capability. There is an additional 50 km of backcountry trails. At over 1,600 feet in elevation, High Point generally has the best snowfall in the NYC region. From the south and east take Route 23 north to the park. From the north take Exit 1 off I-84 at the New Jersey border and go about 5 miles south on Route 23.
